Info from Jeff's email:

The 8th grade Tech Literacy test is ready to roll. Be sure to use the 2011 group for your campus.
To log in, go to http://roundrockisdtechassessment.howtomaster.com . Your user name is your *seeEmail* and your password is *seeEmail*. You will need to add any new students to your campus. The student user name is XX123456 with XX representing the last two digits of the campus number, and their password is their id number. (Note: the first zero in the campus number did not make it into the username..... Sorry. Please start with the 2 campus digits instead of the 3 campus digits with the zero.)

When students log in the first time they will have to go through the training guide and testing guide. After they complete the guides they need to choose which Office (XP or 2007) they will take. Everyone on the campus must take the same test. They should then complete the post assessment NOT the preassessment. We will only be running reports from the post assessment.
Additional information can be found at http://rrisd-its.wikispaces.com/techlitassessment. Please make sure you fill in the schedule so we can spread out the testing over several days so the servers do not get bogged down.

From Robin:**

What I know about the test:

Make sure all pop-up blockers are off.
Students tend to click on "New User" instead of continue. If the system does not recognize them make sure they have not clicked the wrong button before adding them into the system.
They have to open the guides and close them, but reading them is not necessary if you can summarize the content quicker verbally.
It takes some students the entire class period and others only take 20-30 minutes.

The important thing is to set the tone as a serious test environment and not as a community event. My history teachers are great at that so we are testing through the US History classes.

I would suggest that you set up a fake account for yourself and take the pre-test (same content as the post test) to see how the test runs. Mary Jo and Jeff - that won't skew the results, right? It really helped in answering questions that I had worked the system myself.
I am giving the test next week so if I notice anything that is different than in years past I'll let y'all know!
